Because I'm getting more and more visitors and people requesting advice or a nudge in the right direction....I will be updating my blog and providing as much variety of information as I can. Keep in mind that I am also new at all of this, but I have read and tried to research as much credible information as I can regarding healthy fat loss, resistance training and cardio for fat loss, supplements and dieting for fat loss ect.... Hopefully my blog will serve as a good starting point for most of my friends and acquaintances. Check back often for new information.
My personal goal is to get down to less than 10% body fat, then to change my diet and increase my muscle mass.
If you read my nutrition page and follow the guidelines without cheating, I guarantee that you will lose body fat and when you start to plateau...like everyone does, then you can email me and I will tell you about a specific technique that will break your plateau every single time. The results you see on television and in magazines (about losing 30 pounds in 30 days and other outrageously fast claims) are, in my opinion, unhealthy for many people and will actually promote (in many, if not all, people) gaining body fat once you get bored with the program or simply give up because you have hit a plateau. Most, if not all, of the so called "quick start diets" and "nutrition programs" that come with some of the exercise programs are gimmicky. You did not get fat "quickly", so it stands to reason that you will not burn off the body fat "quickly" and effortlessly like they try to make you believe. The diet that I have outlined is for losing body fat, there are different guidelines for maintaining your weight once you have reached your goal and then there is another set of guidelines for building muscle mass. There is yet another technique for breaking through your plateau when trying to lose body fat. I dare to say that you will probably not find all of these in any single exercise program that promise a model's body in just a few months. However, through my journey I am documenting...you will find all of these guidelines and techniques here. I only use credible information and sources. None of these ideas are my own...I am simply passing along what I believe are legitimate techniques to use to reach your goals. Once more...you will continue to see progress and break through plateaus which will keep you motivated.
I hope you sign up to become a follower of my blog and I hope even more that you will pass these techniques and guidelines along to others. I am not selling anything, nor do I get any kickbacks or monetary gain for recommending any personal preference in companies that I may promote.
If you have my email and need further assistance than what is on my blog, then don't hesitate to email me.
Thank you.
This is my quest to reach 10% or less body fat and to be in better shape than I was 20 years ago. I hope the information I provide is of use to others as well.

Back on the wagon
After blowing my diet for the last week and a half with ice cream, I'm back on the wagon. I've also started back on creatine. the combination of Beta Alanine with Creatine should help. Goal of Lean muscle mass is 155/160 with only 10% Body fat or less. It's about 138 right now with 17% body fat.

Finished round 1
I finished my first round of p90x/Insanity hybrid.
Did the whole thing with a 10 lb vest on for pull ups and pushups.
Starting weight was around 188 with about 25% body fat and was down to 163 lbs and 17% BF. My greatest and best gains was when I followed my new diet.
I am starting round 2 with a 15 lb vest for pushups and a total of 8 lbs of ankle weights (4 lbs on each leg) for my pull ups UNTIL I can do 15 unassisted reps on each set of pull ups, then I will increase the weight.
My goal is to get down to roughly 10% body fat or below without a loss of lean muscle mass. I hope to even increase it while I'm leaning out. Because I'm a beginner, this is possible. After I reach my goal I will move on to my bulking phase to increase muscle mass without gaining alot of body fat in the process. Since I am no longer wasting my time posting on a popular fitness forum I will be updating much more regularly here on my blog.
