I've been keeping on track. I started week 11, chest and back, today. I totaled 200 pushups and 32 unassisted pullups. 2 weeks and 1 recovery week and I'll graduate!
I also learned the hard way just how important getting the proper rest was and not working yourself to hard to lose too much weight to fast. My workouts were starting to suffer quite a bit because I was only getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night and I was doing p90x doubles with Insanity being the cardio portion at night. It was too much for me to keep up for very long.
I feel much better now when I workout.
This is my quest to reach 10% or less body fat and to be in better shape than I was 20 years ago. I hope the information I provide is of use to others as well.

Well....I did my legs and back, one on one killer abs..........Insanity's plyometric circuit that night, Insanity's Max Interval Sports training, had my rest day....Then started my recovery week and did one on one Yoga, the fountain of youth this morning and then did Insanity's pure cardio with 2 pound ankle weights on each leg tonight. I surprised myself. It was awesome.

Knocked out yoga today. Today I tried the one on one video..."the fountain of youth yoga". it was really nice, but too short. I think closer to an hour would be just about right. Next time I think I'll hit that with the one on one video "patience hummingbird" yoga video. It's about 35 minutes long. Together that should be just about the right amount of time, for me.
I'm also happy to report that I lost another 1-2 pounds and a 1/4 inch off the fattest part of my stomach. 170 pounds and 37 1/4 inch stomach (not waist). Goal is to lose another 3-4 inches or so. Not concerned about the weight, just wanting that flat stomach.

my new recovery drink
Here's two recovery post workout drinks I found that seem to work pretty good and are quite inexpensive. I prefer these to simple chocolate milk.
chocolate banana---blend 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 1/2 bananas, 2 tablespoons organic maple syrup and 10 grams of protein powder. yields 18 grams protein, 72 carbs, 0.5 g fat and 430 calories.

Pineapple Vanilla - blend together 1 cup water, ½ cup vanilla yogurt, one cup frozen pineapples, 2 tbsp honey (preferably raw), and 10 grams vanilla whey protein powder – 15 g prot, 71 g carb, 0.5 g fat, 405 calories.
I will be keeping my other supplements that I add to my recovery drink. these will just replace the waxy maize I use.
Supplements and weights
As far as supplements....I am currently taking about 5 grams of Omega 3, Vitamin E (by Unique), garlic, saw pametto, vitamin C, red algae, olive oil and biotin.
My pre-workout drink is 25 grams of whey protein, creatine (cycled), Alpha-gpc, GABA, melatonin, american genseng, cinnulin PF, yohimbine and Niacin.
My post workout drink for now is.....12 grams of protein, 36 grams of waxy maize, creatine (cycled), L-leucine, L-glutamine, alpha lipoic acid, banaba extract and gymnema sylvestre.
At bedtime I take casein protein with flax seed oil, l-glutamine, and alpha-gpc.
I used to take and will start taking again....Beta Alanine. It works and I highly recommend it. It's great for delaying muscle fatigue and it's good for your endurance. It takes about 2 weeks for it to kick in, but once it does you will definitely see a difference.
AAKG also works great, but it gave me cold sores and diarrhea too bad.
I have been doing my pushups and pullups with a weighted vest. currently it's 10 lbs. I am also using ankle weights as well as dumb bells with my ab workouts. My ankle weights are currently 2 lbs each leg and the dumb bells I use range from 20 to 7 1/2 pounds. It has definitely made a difference in my abs.
